Stellar Frontier is a project that explores packaging design as a tool for visual storytelling and world-building. The goal was to create a cohesive system where each component contributes to the narrative, enhancing the presentation of the product and the overall collecting experience.
The packaging is designed to resemble a cargo container transporting essential goods to distant settlements within the frontier. Surface details like weathered panels, distressed edges, and distorted display screens help place the product within its environment and reinforce the narrative.
Each figure includes a file card that provides key character details and background information. They also offer additional insight into the world the characters inhabit, adding another layer of storytelling while expanding the project’s narrative depth.
A series of fictional company logos was created to increase realism and further support the world-building element. Each logo references notable scientists, physicists, and engineers who contributed to the advancement of aeronautics and space travel.
